Fifteen years after I was shot, I am still demanding accountability

Fifteen years ago today, I was shot by an Israeli sniper. I was 22 years old, standing at the border of Lebanon and Israel at Maroun al-Ras, taking part in a march to mark Nakba Day – the annual commemoration of the mass displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. A single bullet paralysed me below the waist.
