Palestinians demand official apology from the UK
A group of 13 Palestinians, supported by around 50 Members of Parliament, has submitted a petition demanding an official apology from the British government for colonial crimes committed between 1917 and 1948.
The group aims to open a broader debate on reparations to Palestinians, include the teaching of this period in public schools, and declassify all archives related to the British mandate.
Danny Friedman, a barrister who helped draft the 400-page petition, told TRT World that the group is considering escalating its claim to UK courts if the British government does not respond within the next few months.
